Talk Abstract:
Volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits are globally important resources of Zn, Cu, Pb, Au and Ag. The geological characteristics: metal grades, size, distribution, and host rock features are well understood based on the predominance of deposits worldwide. The over 100 years of mining VMS deposits in Canada make for an attraction to explore and develop new resources. In the wake of the demand for metals, VMS deposits also contain several of the “Critical Minerals” that enhances the romance. The typical grades and size combine for the viability of development and relatively frugal exploration programs required to discover new resources. This combination is the perfect recipe for a love affair to develop these types of deposits, especially in Canada.
